Pyotr Demianovitch Ouspensky, author of Tertium Organum and A new Model of The Universe, was an emigre Russian philosopher, and one of the last major Russian thinkers whose thought in some ways took substantially different directions from those taken by modern Western philosophy. Although his work was wide in its scope, in his later life it manifested particularly in linking psychology and cosmology in a way intended to give a unified view of man and of his place in the world.
