PROPERTIESHEPATOGEN is a Silybin-phospholipid complex (Phytosome®), with vitamin E and Zinc and its activity is improved by the addition of Curcumin-Phytosome® and a Superoxide Dismutase with gastric protection (SOD B Extramel®). SOD B Extramel® converts superoxide radicals into water and hydrogen peroxide, then it is catalyzed into oxygen and water, by catalase and glutathione peroxidase (enzymes with which SOD B Extramel® acts synergistically). SOD B Extramel® also plays an important role by supporting phase II of liver detoxification. Specialized studies on the aging process have noted that organisms that have the highest levels of Superoxide Dismutase have the longest lifespans. Through the Phytosome® process, flavonoid substances (Curcumin and Silybin) are bound to essential phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine) and as a result, their bioavailability is increased 7-10 times. Phosphatidylcholine has its own hepatoprotective action: this choline reservoir is a natural constituent of bile, which emulsifies lipids and allows their decomposition, thus preventing the appearance of hepatic steatosis. Phosphatidylcholine is capable of selectively incorporating into hepatocyte membranes and giving them greater resistance to lipid peroxidation. The Phytosome® technique amplifies the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic and detoxifying role of Silybin. Vitamin E also protects the phospholipids of liver cell membranes from lipid peroxidation by forming stabilizing complexes, which avoid the highly destructive chain reactions of reactive oxygen species. This antifibrotic activity acts in synergy with that of silybin and phosphatidylcholine, this has already been validated in human practice. It plays a role in liver detoxification by activating the hepatic microsomal system. METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION HEPATOGEN Felin-Canin: 2 tablets/5 kg body weight/day or, for better bioavailability: 1 tablet morning and evening/5 kg body weight/day. HEPATOGEN Canine: 1 tablet/10 kg body weight/day or, for better bioavailability: 1/2 tablet morning and evening/10 kg body weight/day. Before use or extending the duration of use, it is recommended to seek the advice of a veterinarian. The recommended period of use is 6 months. Water must be provided at all times. HEPATOGEN is compatible with the diets of patients suffering from heart or kidney failure. In general, the tablets are swallowed spontaneously.
