Effipro Duo Cat, 4 pipettes is an antiparasitic product for cats, for external use, containing fipronil, and is very effective in treating flea and tick infestations, for a period of 4 weeks after a single administration. The product has a persistent acaricidal efficacy of up to 1 week. Effipro Duo can be used against flea allergy dermatitis. Regular administration helps control reinfestation and protects cats against harmful parasitic diseases. Monthly treatment is safe for use on cats and kittens over 10 weeks of age. Composition: 8.3 mg fipronil/0.5ml pipette; 10 mg pyriprofixen/0.5ml pipette. Route of administration: external application to the skin. METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION Remove the single-dose pipette from the protective package. Hold the single-dose pipette in a vertical position, twist and pull the cap off. Make a path in the animals hair between the shoulder blades and apply the contents of the pipette to the skin, without massaging. Place the tip of the single-dose pipette on the skin and press the pipette several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin at two points on the back.CONTRAINDICATIONS The product is not for use in cats under 10 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 1 kg. Do not use in sick animals (systemic diseases, fever) or in convalescent animals. Do not use on wet fur, and do not wash the animal for at least 2 days after administering the pipette. Do not use in rabbits. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Do not smoke, eat or drink water while handling this product. Use gloves when applying the pipette and avoid contact with eyes and mouth.ADVERSE REACTIONS If licking occurs, short-term hypersalivation may be observed, mainly due to the nature of the excipients. After use, among the extremely rare side effects, transient skin reactions at the application site (skin discoloration and local alopecia, pruritus, erythema) and generalized pruritus or alopecia may be observed. Alopecia and irritation normally disappear without the need for intervention, but symptomatic therapy may be applied in certain circumstances. Exceptionally, as with other macrocyclic lactones, reversible neurological signs have been observed following use of the product. Recommendations for correct administration: the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. Monthly treatment is recommended throughout the year. When concurrent infestations or infections are present on the same animal and are to be treated with this product, only a single topical application of a recommended dose should be administered once.
