INDICATION It contains a unique combination of L-tryptophan, Phosphatidylserine (in the form of lecithin) and a B vitamin complex (B1, B3, B6) that helps relax cats in times of stress or experiencing states of anxiety, fear or nervousness. 3. COMPOSITION Each 2ml contains: Lecithin (source of phosphatidylserine) 18 mg L-Tryptophan 90 mg Vitamin B1 (thiamine) 0.8 mg Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) 5.6 mg Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) 0.6 mg 4. INGREDIENTS Phosphatidylserine: Plays a role in neurotransmitter production and release, receptor function, and synaptic activity. Phosphatidylserine has been shown to normalize the stress response of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis. L-tryptophan: is converted to serotonin. L-tryptophan has been shown to reduce stress-related behaviors and reduce aggressive behavior in stressed cats. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study in cats, L-tryptophan was shown to help reduce stress-related behavior problems in cats living with other cats. Vitamin B1 (thiamine): a nutrient that provides protection to the adrenal glands. It reduces stress-induced cortisol levels. Vitamin B3 (niacinamide): Improves the quality and quantity of sleep. Helps convert tryptophan into serotonin. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine): cofactor in the synthesis of GABA, serotonin and dopamine. 5. USE Situations where CALMEX® CAT can be helpful: bringing a new cat into the house, fear of noises such as fireworks or thunder, anxiety caused by changes in the environment such as moving to a new house or renovation, traveling by car and staying in a boarding house/boarding school, going to the vet or getting a haircut. 6. DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION For best results, administer 3 days before a stressful event. A double dose can be given 30-60 minutes before an acute stressor, if necessary. It can be administered for a long period of time if the cat is trying to adapt to a new situation (multiple cat housing, relocation or change of owner) or if the cat suffers from chronic stress.
